Loving Polka Dots

I was packing my suitcase for yet another work-related travel on Tuesday and noticed that there are at least 5 dotted tops and 2 polka dot styled dresses in my closet. I guess I really love seeing white or black dots on colored background. The same is true in my craft studio. I've lost count on the number of papers and spools of ribbon bearing polka dots design.

My sweet spots indeed.

Here's to a productive work week!

Thinking About a Lovely Weekend

Trees along the roads are slowly but surely dressing up in green while our feathered friends can't stop chirping excitedly. What a sight to end the work week. I don't know about you but I am thinking about a lovely weekend ahead!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Howdy My Dear

Just got back from a 2-day-business meeting last night and this morning it was my dear hubby's turn to leave the nest and attend a convention outside the country. We both love traveling and discovering things far and wide but we hate it when we can't do it together. Although I am feeling blue here at home sweet home, I wish my hubby a lovely time. He deserves nothing less!

Howdy dear, I miss you already! Keep safe.

A New Year to ... EXPLORE

Happy 2012!

I'm not fond of making new year's resolutions for the simple reason that can't keep them! Instead, I vow to EXPLORE the opportunities that come with a brand new year.

Inspired by the word EXPLORE and the sketch from Card Patterns, I made my first card for the year which I intend to mail to myself to remind me life is too short to not to spread my wings wider and discover new things, faces, and places.
When I was looking for craft materials to express my current state of mind, it seemed like the stars are totally aligned. Hubby and I went to Michael's yesterday {well, I kind of "coerced" him to go with me} and found this dollar stamp that perfectly conveys my feelings of "pushing the pencil" and "flying high" to a whole new world of endless discoveries.

On to the next isle was a huge sale of Slice Cordless Cutting Machine which I got for 29 bucks and cartridges are sold for 5 bucks {it was Christmas morning again!!!} so I got crazy and took everything that my 2 hands can handle. The sentiment on the card is from Sing and Dance Slice cartridge. I added glitters on the wings to make it the focal point of the card.

Back to my "explore and discover" mode. Here's what I wrote on my idea notebook:

Let 2012 my year to EXPLORE
... my personal relationship with my God
... new ways to show my family how much I love and adore them
... my passion in paper crafting and dancing
... Peruvian and Ethiopian cuisine

... the art of calligraphy

... my stock knowledge in speaking Spanish
... the "magic" of Harry Potter in Florida

... the life of Antoine de Saint-Exupery
and ... my hidden strength to do what I am capable of accomplishing

Cheers to a new year of endless possiblities!

Make a Wish!

It's been a while since the last time I participated in Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge. I'm thankful for sketches. They make my life so much easier specially if I need to make a card pronto!

This one is for my sister-in-law who's celebrating her birthday today.

Happy happy birthday Manang Weena! May all the wishes of your heart come true!

With Love

Just want to share the card I gave my hubby yesterday for our 13th wedding anniversary. I ended up with a nature-inspired card in line with the Earth Day celebration. I only used one patterned paper {save the trees!} and stamped the deer on a recycled leftover scrap from previous project. The love birds are stamped directly on the patterned paper.

My hubby on the other hand gave me this beautiful orchid....

P.S. Just like any other scrapbook enthusiast, I have to have a photo! Here's a captured moment before we went out for a Japanese dinner date.

Cheers,

Blog Bug

We have a blog page! OK. OK. I didn't see this one coming.

My husband JV and I love our day jobs. We are thankful that we are blessed with something that we like to do on a daily basis and get paid for just being good at it. But as soon as we get home, we still crave for things that satisfy our respective alter egos ... a trying hard paper crafter and a greenhorn photographer.

My love affair with papers started at a very young age. My mom told me that I would trade my toys for a piece of colored paper to the delight of my playmates. JV on the other hand can spend hours and hours at Future Shop or Best Buy looking at and touching cameras and lenses as if they are precious diamonds. His favorite subject ... moi, bien sur!

Moments shared in our studio armed with paper and camera are PURE BLISS! Welcome to our niche, our blog.... where we will share memories preserved in scrapbook layouts, hand made cards and captured moments of our journey.
